RESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT

We have been discussing semiotics, the science of interpreting signs, and our most recent readings have examined semiotics as applied to storytelling  the way a lead character is represented and how his/her experiences unfold.

Choose a film which you feel presents a strong message. Write a paper of 1500 – 2000 words discussing the ways the film conveys its message, with particular emphasis on the portrayal of the lead character and his/her experiences.

MLA REQUIREMENT: You must quote from at least five sources in this paper. At least two of the sources must be articles from our text, “Signs of Life in the USA.” Your sources must be listed in a Works Cited according to MLA rules, and your paper must contain at least ten correctly cited quotes.
