program for spicific learning context
Order Description
Your task
You task is to design and create a program for students based on your own teaching context. This program will be a substantial unit of work, requiring at least 10 hours of in class time. Use the knowledge you have gained from your prior teaching experiences and the readings about new literacies, reading online, web authoring and multimodal texts to prepare a detailed unit of work. The lessons should be planned around a core theme or topic.
Your unit of work and lessons should:
Provide background information on the intended class (this may be hypothetical) and a defensible rationale for the appropriateness of the unit for the group;
Include expected outcomes and content based on the NSW English K-10 Syllabus (or your state or territorys equivalent) or the Australian Curriculum: English;
Build students new literacies knowledge and skills;
Be structured so the knowledge and skills are learnt and practised in the course of the unit;
Incorporate a range of digital technologies that enhance students understandings of new literacies;
Include appropriate resources and scaffolding to enable the students to experience success as well as be challenged by the content (internet resources should be live links); and
Explain how you will assess student achievement of the outcomes, eg. Provide a detailed assessment rubric.
