Write a 20 page term paper integrating the course with an organizational leadership situation or case (my case study proposal). The student should have sufficient access or understanding of the context to be able to apply a broad based critique. The paper should include the following components, organized in a manner that is best suited to the topic and the student’s preferences: • A summary of the case or situation. What is the context? What are the dynamics involved? • An evaluation of the case from the foundation of organizational theory provided by Bolman and Deal. From which frame(s) is the organization functioning? Through which frame(s) have you chosen to evaluate the case and why? • An evaluation of the case from the foundation of leadership theory provided by Northouse. With which theory(ies) are the participants functioning? With which theory(ies) have you chosen to evaluate the case and why? • An application for the case from the wisdom of the historical leaders studied in this course. (Plato-Republic, Machiavelli-The Prince, Shakespeare-Othello, Sun Tzu-The Art of War ) Who would have something helpful to say to this situation and what would that something be? Apply at least two of the historical writings to this case. • An integration of the Leadership Matters: Unleashing the Power of Paradox reading as it relates to your case. The paper should conform to APA standards for presentation and citation. Careful attention should be given to matters of grammar, spelling, and syntax.
