Each paper should not only summarize the content of the source, but also analyze the content. Consider these types of questions:
• What has the source contributed to architectural history? Consider whether new facts have been discovered, or new interpretations proposed, or both.
• Why did the author choose this subject?
• How did the author know or discover these things? (Look at the footnotes.)
• How does the author treat assumptions and unknowns?
