What characterizes a woman’s identity?
In college, professors expect you to have an inquiring mind regardless of your disposition towards a particular topic. In Honors Senior English, we would be remiss if we did not prepare you for this academic climate. To that end, you will write a research paper that stems from your inquiring mind on the topic of women in literature.
There are two different approaches to such a broad focal point. If you already have a question you would like to research, then simply ask for clearance from your teacher to pursue the answer to this question. If you do not already have a question, then dip your toe into research domains literary criticism, sociology, anthropology (to name just a few areas). As you encounter these voices, a question should spring to mind. As a last resort, beg your teachers for potential questions. Here are a few that come to mind:
What characterizes a woman’s identity?
How do women reach self-actualization?
Must men and women fill separate roles within society?
