There may be some older students who are ID that may think the same way as a younger child.I am not sure a teacher would have the qualifications to prepare a child for their own death. The only thing a teacher could do is to speak with the parents and counselors to find out what would be the best way to go about this conversation or if there should be a conversation at all.

respond at least 150 words Yes the ability to understand death differs by the age and the ability of a student. Many young children especially have a more fantasy idea about death because of cartoons and video games. They don\’t understand that death is final and that the person will not come back immediately. Some kids may even think of it as a person just being asleep but they will wake up soon. Older children may have a concept of death but it would depend on their intelligence level just how much they really understood.
