The personality of animal owners (e.g. do dog owners differ from cat owners in terms of personality?)

This assessment is a research report on a topic chosen, there are the study and results provided to us which I will attach.

There are 5 references provided by our lecture for using, but 5 for you to find.

This following is further information:

So your results section should consist of the following: 1x table, 1x figure, 5x paragraphs reporting the t-tests.

You dont need subheadings, but if you feel they assist with the presenting of the results, then go for it.

Each table and figure must have a label (e.g. Figure 1) and a caption describing whats in the figure of table.

AND the figures and tables must be referred to in the text. So, dont just include the table and caption- introduce them and refer to them in the body of your work.

You are all correct when you say that you shouldn\’t present the same information twice in the results section. However, In this case, for your report, we would like you to include both the table of means and the graph. This is mostly for the practice of including both features in a report using APA format, but also, more pedantically, we could argue there are slight differences (e.g. the measure of dispersion for the Table will be standard deviation, whilst for the graph it will be standard error). So please, include both the table of means, and the graph in your report.

To explain in a bit more detail the components:

Include a table with the Mean and SD scores for each personality trait, for dog and cat owners. This is the same information as we gave you in the results document. You need to make sure the table has been changed so that it meets the APA formatting rules for tables.

A graph of the results. We have given you a graph. Yes this is a repeat of the data in the table. We want you to include it, and then write a suitable figure caption for it. you can refer to the table 1 and figure 1 together. For example, The means and standard deviations of each group are presented in Table 1 and Figure 1

And 5 paragraphs, each one describing the results of each of the 5 T-Tests. I have provided you with the correct way to write up the results of a t test in APA format. SO there is no need to paraphrase or change it. I have done it for OPENESS. however you will need to also write up the results for the other personality factors. All the data you need is provided in that second table we gave you, so look at the colours in the results document to find where to get it all from. Because all the t tests were non significant, then you dont have to change the wording of the write up.

These can be separate paragraphs- might be too much to have them as one large paragraph.

For the demographic details, these should be presented/written up in the methods section under participants. Remember that you cant calculate means and sd for age because we use age categories. I have another post which shows how to present age data.

If you are presenting the demographics data in a table (you dont have to if you dont want to), then you dont need to write out the same information in the text. Again, refer to the table that contains that information.

Remember too, any text in tables doesnt count to your word limit/count.

The main point is that in the methods section you: 1. Mention that the project obtained ethical approval (and name the ethics committee that gave the approval) and 2. Cite the number/reference of that approval. \’H1/11012\’ is the ethical number
