The purpose of the Community Issue Paper is for you to reflect on an issue facing MSU students and to demonstrate how it relates to your understanding of leadership at this point in the course. In the paper you should a) demonstrate an understanding of the multiple perspectives of the issue, b) articulate and explain how the issue is related to leadership topics and discussions covered in class, and c) articulate a stance on the issue and solutions the stakeholders should take to resolve the issue.

For this sectionyou need to articulate both (or multiple) sides of the community issue.
Questions to consider:
What values/ beliefs are foundational for the various sides of the issue?
What were the various groups/ stakeholders related to the issue advocating for?
What was the purpose/ message of the event, and what was the purpose/ message the various sides were trying to communicate?
Articulate and explain how the issue is related to leadership topics and discussions covered in class

How does follower ship play a role in the issue?
How do dynamics of power/ authority play a role in the issue?
How do individuals identities play a role in the issue?
Review the various discussion forums, and how are the discussion forums related to the issue?
Articulate a stance on the issue and solutions the stakeholders should take to resolve the issue
What is your stance on the issue? While you can value, recognize, and validate multiple perspective of an issue, we want you to take one particular stance.
Based on your stance on the issue, what are solutions, strategies, ideas, etc., that can be implemented to solve the issue?
Your suggestions may not be the perfect solution, but consider what are the necessary steps towards a solution to the issue?

What knowledge/training do individuals still need?
What policies need to be implemented?
How will various stakeholders be influenced by your suggestions?
