MGMT 451W 2017

Instructions, Evaluation Criteria, and Study Guide for Final Movie Analysis

Purpose
The purpose of this final analysis is to apply concepts from the course to an analysis of a movie (to be announced). The goal is to reinforce and test your ability to apply course concepts in a vivid and interesting way.

Preparation Recommendation: Review the textbook, powerpoints from classes, previous assignments, and class notes to refresh your memory about concepts learned in class. Then view the film with these in mind. While viewing the film, take notes about connections that come to mind that you can develop further later. Revisit notes and text to insure that you are applying the concepts correctly! Do NOT tell me the story of the film. I know it! Use the precious space to show me your thinking and analysis. And, have fun!

Format: (Max 8 pages double spaced, 11 point type, 1 margins)
Include the academic integrity deliverable statement signed.
Proofread the document carefully and insert page numbers.
Refer to people in the film by their character name. Use bold or underlining to highlight each concept youre applying (for example, whistleblowing).

Grading criteria:
Course concept identification and application identification of relevant concepts (about 25 concepts is a good number to shoot for), accurate application of each, with explicit example(s) from film used to illustrate each application (75 points)

Comprehensiveness (representation across chapters) and relevance/importance (did you choose the most important/relevant concepts from across course content?) (10 points)

Overall depth and quality of thought careful analysis and insight (10 points)

Quality of writing (5 points)

Academic Integrity Expectations:
You may view the film as many times as you wish.
You may NOT discuss the film with classmates or anyone taking (or who has taken MGMT 451W) until after all exams are turned in.
You should write the paper completely independently and not discuss it or show it to classmates in any section of MGMT451W until after all exams are turned in.
