Module 7 Discussion 321

You have discovered a positive association in your data as ice cream consumption goes up, so does crime. Does this mean ice cream causes crime? Or could there possibly be a third, intervening variable in this association? If so, what might it be? Generate some hypotheses with your best educated guesses, as of course these variables are not included in the GSS so you will not be able to run your own SPSS analysis to find this answer. Think creatively/bigger than the GSS as you brainstorm. Also, address the difference between correlation and causation in your discussion.
