Order Description

Task: Write a critical review essay on the literature or literatures covered by the topic. A critical review essay or piece of literary criticism requires close reading and evaluation of a selection of literary texts through a theme or themes connecting the selected texts. The texts selected should remain clearly connected to the idea, genre or theme designated by the topic. Academic sources may be used and may prove useful to developing and supporting your thematic arguments. All essays should try to select their texts on the basis of genre and then give a close critical review of their common thematic elements such as gender, sexuality, society, politics, ethics, science, mysticism, or any other theme common to all of the selected worksremember: just because they are using the same themes does not mean that the texts will treat the theme/s the same way. The theme/s chosen should make the selected texts stand out as the most interesting examples of those themes. All essays should be referenced following the Author-Date guidelines in the Australian Government Style Manual and be written for a well-read public audience.
