CONTINGENCY PLAN
This assessment follows on from assessments one and two. There are two parts to this assignment. You must complete both parts.
Scenario continued
It is now the morning of your operation and you have the following security arrangements in place:
Total of 12 security officers.
Each officer works 4 hours.
Rotation of duties (hourly).
The officers patrol on foot and stand at each entry point.
2 metre high fencing.
Two officers patrolling the external perimeter of the fence.
CCTV cameras placed on top of the fence on each of the four corners of the property and at public access entry points.
One vehicle entry only.
Two staff points of entry only.
One public access point only.
One each of male & female ablution blocks.
Patrols of the pool area with contracted Life Guards.
Snoop Dogg is due to arrive within the hour and the crowd is much larger than expected. Inside around the pool area some patrons appear to have been drinking and are stirring up other patrons. You are starting to have concerns about maintaining the security of the perimeter and avoiding a rush from the crowd upon your high profile celebrity, as well as maintaining safety and security around the pool area.
PART A
At this intervention point you need to seek expert advice, this part requires you to prepare a report to the Security Director for approval to immediately amend your security plan to account for the changes in circumstances you have observed as part of your monitoring of the operation.
Your report must:
1. Identify the activities you have been monitoring.
2. Identify at least two compliance issues with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
3. Identify two compliance issues with any other legislative requirements.
4. Identify at least three security issues as a result of the changes in circumstances.
5. Present a remedial action plan to account for these issues.
6. Identify additional financial costs as a result of these changes.
Student benchmarks Part A:
1. Students should present an overview of how the operational activities being monitored.
2. Students must identify two OHS compliance issues due to the changes in circumstances for the operation.
3. Students must identify two compliance issues associated with other legislative requirements due to the changes in circumstances for the operation.
4. Students must identify at least two other security issues associated with the changes in circumstances for the operation.
5. Students must identify and describe what remedial action they will take to account for the issues identified. Students must describe what specific changes they will make to the security plan to account for the changes in circumstances.
6. Students must identify any additional financial costs associated with the changes to be implemented
PART B
Your report to the Security Director has been approved and the changes are to be implemented immediately. You are now responsible for communicating these changes to the security team via radio communications. You are required to prepare a written conversation as if you are utilising two-way radios and are updating the team of the changes to their roles and responsibilities to accommodate the change in circumstances.
You must simulate your conversation with each team member that requires a change to their current duties as you have identified in your amended plan.
