GEOGRAPHIES OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
Without doing any research, select a country (do not use: US, Canada, Japan) that you consider to be less developed based on the definition of development from class or text (including economic, cultural, political or social development). Explain why you think this country is less developed using only your perception (what you’ve heard, seen, read, etc). Now look up two indicators of development for that country. One of those statistics should be economic (for example GDP, GNI) and one should reflect quality of life (for example education, health, happiness). Based on the statistics that you found, describe the country in terms of its level of development. Does this description match your expectations? How does the economic indicator relate to the quality of life indicator? Be sure to site your source for your statistics. (10pts)
