Describe what is meant by learning and development and discuss the key theories put forward to explain learning and development.

Order Description

Part 1: Students will write their own philosophy of education statement with support from learning theory / philosophy. Students will explain what they perceive are the most important conditions and features that support effective pedagogy. (approx. 1000 words).

Part 2: With reference to two resources (books and / or games) students will show how this philosophy can be applied practically. Students will choose two resources, explain why they perceive them to be of high quality, and show how they can be used to support learning, in line with the philosophy, and supported by learning theory.

3. Discuss the importance of high quality books, poems, stories and games for children.
5. Demonstrate sound academic skills in formative and summative assessments.
6. Develop and articulate their own pedagogy / philosophy or ethos statement about how children learn and develop
