in the adult care home would benefit from having a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) on site to help residents with language barriers and communication skills. Many of the residents are different ages, come from different backgrounds, and have different age-related deficiencies causing them to have problems communicating with one another because of the various differences. A speech language pathologist could teach residents different ways on how they could communicate with one another; this would be a great way to help engage the older adults in social interactions. The occupational therapist (OT) and speech language pathologist could collaborate with one another working on communication skills and social interaction skills. The OT could focus more on social interactions skills, where the SLP could focus more on communication skills. Since, adult care home is an independent living facility some residents have problems interacting with others and knowing how to approach others living in the apartment complex. By participating in activities provided by the OT and the SLP, these barriers could be decreased for the res
