Identify two health behaviors you would like to modify (Anxiety & obsessive compulsive disorder)
-Describe the target behavior – note how it started and any important facts about it. Also note why you would like to decrease/eliminate it.
-Gather baseline data – observe instances of the behavior for two days. Note times/situations/places it occurs
-Identify stimulus conditions on paper – sum up the reasons why you believe the behavior is occurring (as indicated by baseline data). Not getting enough sleep because watching The Love Boat each night. A stimulus condition could be your cat because they keep waking you up at night. Identify strategies to deal with these stimulus conditions.
-Setting goals – state the goal for the behavior over the next five days.
-Punishers and reinforcers – Note what you will do when you achieve the goal (positive reinforcement). Note what you will do when you don\’t (punishment).
-Remove (or encourage) stimulus condition – Implement plan to deal with stimulus condition – close bedroom door so cat can\’t get in, turn The Love Boat off.
-Design a program – identify how/when you will modify the behavior for five days. Then do it!
-Results – report the results.
