Health Policy Analysis Paper
A). Definition of health Problem
Describe the problem you want to address including information on who the problem effect, how many are affected and why there is a problem. Identify existing systems in place to address the problem including services provided, individuals covered, along with gaps and limitations.
B). Policy Analysis
A comparison of different policy options to address the problem
a). Includes a short description of 3-4 alternative policy options that could address their problem. At least one of these options should be to maintain the status quo. For each policy option, you should:
i). Describe the option, and project how it will impact on the problem (projecting outcomes)
ii). Describe whether the policy has been implemented elsewhere, and if so, what the experience has been (including any evaluations of the option).
iii). Any information on costs involved, ease of implementation, etc. You should try to include information needed to assess the different policy options (based on the criteria you selected in b, below).
b). Includes at least three evaluation criteria the student will use to compare the different policy options (e.g., cost, number of people that will be helped, political feasibility, resources needed to implement, etc).
c). Present your analysis of the different policy options using the evaluation criteria chosen. Present in both matrix and in descriptive format.
