Contested issues from theories in education to promote participatory teaching
Order Description
I need to write a section that discuss contested issues in a number of theories in education to add in a literature review chapter. I have already written the benefits of each of these theories but I need to add a criticism or contested issues section into the selected theories.
What is drawn from the theories are intended to help in suggesting the most appropriate (participatory approach) customised to teach environmental topics for university level students in design.
Some features of this participatory student cantered approach were drawn from a field work and shown in the attached diagram, along with the teaching problems that the design department has in this educational institution.
The theories are listed below:
1- Social learning theory
2- Elaboration theory
3- Information processing theory
4- Situated cognition
5- Self-regulated learning
6- anchored instruction
7- Communities of practice
8- Connectivism
9- Discovery learning
10- Multi-literacies
11- Social development theory
12- Problem based learning
13- Participatory learning approach (PLA)
14- Facilitation theory
Perhaps a minimum of two paragraphs of criticism or contested issues for each theory is sufficient.
