Visual Text Analysis (2000-word equivalent)
Media literacy empowers people to be both critical thinkers and creative producers of an increasingly wide range of messages using image, language, and sound. The aim of this assignment is to analyse and compare two film clips / or picture books. Your analysis will demonstrate your understandings of multimodal texts, cultural reproduction and stereotyping. A framework for presenting this task will be presented In writing your analysis you will be examining aspects of visual literacy, media techniques and how cultural images position us as viewers and readers.
You will need to consider:
Identify key elements and features of visual texts.
How meaning is shaped in visual texts (film clip or picture books).
Cultural assumptions in texts and their effects on meaning.
Accurately reference all research using APA 6, and include a full front page with student name and ID number, subject details.
