REGULAR ASSIGNMENT-
In this assessment you will use a case study to generate a report to the board to recommend a new international HRM strategy incorporating a local and global scope. You will be given the role of a member of the HR team taking part in the internal evaluation of the case study\’s international human resource strategy. You will individually focus on a particular area of Human Resource Management but collaborate to produce a coherent and cohesive report for your HR Director. Regular Assignment Assessment Criteria
This is a group assignment and the marking scheme for the assignment reflects this. 80% of the marks for this assignment will be awarded to the group, as a group mark, whilst 20% will be awarded to the individual, as a reflection of individual effort and research skills. The group mark awarded to individual students who have demonstrably failed to fully contribute to their group work may be adjusted accordingly, at the assessors\’ discretion. The assessment criteria or \”Group Presentation Rubric\” used to assess your group presentation are provided below. Please read them very carefully, as they should serve as a guide in your preparation for the presentation.
All groups are required to submit their evaluation, analysis and recommendations using Microsoft Word. One single hard copy containing all sections must be submitted through turn-it-in on moodle. Please ensure you AGREE your final report with ALL group members before submitting ONE copy of the group report only. However, each student must submit a peer evaluation form individually.
Submission Requirements
The final copy must be correctly titled with each student\’s name identified per section as follows:

One member of the group will submit this report- the group leader will submit the report and peer evaluation as a single word document in the format \’304 LON Group Report and Peer Evaluation.\’ However, each member will be required to complete and submit individually the Peer Evaluation Form available on Moodle under the Assignment 1 Link.

Recruitment and Selection:
1. Based on the information you have to date, what do you think the key priorities should be for Recruitment and Selection?
2. Analyse if the hotels should look only at internal candidates for managers who are parent country nationals (PCNs) or recruit host country nationals (HCNs) or a combination of the two.
Analyse which methods of recruitment and selection would be suitable for managerial positions at Melrose? Each management consultant group must design a selection process for the candidates.
Training and Development:
The success of these managers is vital to the success of setting up the new business, so management wants to ensure they provide effective support for them in terms of training and development. Based on the information you have to date, what do you think the key priorities should be for Training and Development?
All groups should discuss the learning needs of these managers and develop a total company training plan for key management positions in the hotels in the new location.
Reward and Performance Management:
1) Based on the information you have to date, what do you think the key priorities should be for Reward and Performance Management?
2) Since the organisation has never hired managers to work outside the UK before, they do not know how to start determining the compensation. They provide you with the following information that they found on the Internet:
Existing salary for managers is 35,000 (52,000 Euros) plus bonuses.
Surveys show that the average salary for hotel managers in France is 60,000 Euros
with no opportunity to earn bonuses .Do you agree or would you like to implement changes?
Design a compensation package for the hotel management position. Explain the rationale for your design. You may also include non-financial benefits.
Employee Participation and Involvement:
Based on the information you have to date, what do you think the key priorities should be for Employee Participation and Involvement?
Design three High Performance Work Practices utilising three drivers of engagement that would help improve Employee Participation and Engagement in the current and new locations.
