How does the work relate to other works in the field or to your general understanding of the subject?
The requirements are that you locate, read, and report on an article relevant to the role of organizational theory and behavior as presented in a peer reviewed/scholarly journal.
Additional/supporting research is recommended but not required.
The structure of your article review should include all the points below for full credit.
1. Introduction/Opening Paragraph
Clearly and accurately present full bibliographical information about the work including article title, media source, date, and pages for articles.
2. Supporting Paragraphs. The number of paragraphs varies according to the nature of the article and the extent of what you have to say. In your summary, include all the significant points of the work, including the points the author emphasizes.
a) Explain the purpose of the work, the author’s background, and sources.
b) Present your critical evaluation, discussing both positive and negative features as appropriate. Support all your judgments with evidence from the work, paraphrasing and quoting excerpts. Is the work thorough? Unbiased? Fair? Clear? Convincing? Significant? How does the work relate to other works in the field or to your general understanding of the subject?
3. Conclusion/Ending Paragraph
Provide an overall summary of what you have learned from the review. Make a recommendation about the type of reader likely to enjoy or benefit from the work. Include your opinion of the work’s contribution to the field. Share the questions/gaps you see in the research as it is presented in the limitations of the article.
