After watching one write a one-page summary (your own words – DO NOT PLAGIARIZE from other sources) of the movie. Include a brief summary of the main characters and major plot points.

In a second page, compare and contrast the elements of the movie\’s plot, themes, historical issues with the corresponding reading material covered in class. How does the movie represent the themes and issues covered in the reading? WARNING!!! The point of this assignment is NOT to compare on a point by point basis the events as depicted in the reading to those of the film – in most cases, the readings in Perry do not reflect every element of these films\’ plots. Instead I ask you to compare to the reading in Perry and contrast how the movies depict the \”feel\” of the era, the atmosphere, the culture, the way people interacted with each other. Does the film feel \”authentic\” or does it represent a glib Hollywood recreation with little attention to \”history.\” You must use specific examples from Perry in demonstrating your points.
