The work to date: An analytical review and reflection
You need to complete a 2,000 word written reflective account comprising a discussion of a topic from the module and reflection on your own learning. The reflective account should evidence learning and knowledge acquired from your study of this module. You will need to select one topic from the module for your discussion which will need to:
- Consider the key principles relating to the topic, and its relevance and significance to the global business environment,
- Make connections to and links with other topics from the module,
- Use examples to help illustrate.
- Use and incorporate academic literature from a number of credible academic sources to support your discussion.
For your reflection you will need to select one learning experience from the following and analyse and evaluate your learning experience. Don’t describe (not so much what happened – more why) and how this will help your learning in future.
- Completion of Patches 1, 2 or 3.
- Seminar tasks
- Lectures/seminars
- Group work
In addition you will need to discuss the development of your individual Learning Action Plan over the course of the module and include this as an appendix to your reflective account. Your individual Learning Action Plan will detail the targets you have set to help your future learning and how you will achieve these.
You will include a conclusion which will need to sum up how completion of the assessment has enhanced your understanding of the complexity of the global business environment, how reflection has helped with this understanding and how it will help your future learning.
Your reflective account should be 2,000 words (±10%) and should contain the following
- Introduction
- Discussion of topic related to business in a global context
- Reflection
- Conclusion
- Learning Action Plan (as an appendix)
NB: You cannot simply resubmit work completed for previous patches, either fully or in part. You cannot choose globalization for this patch as it is covered in patch one.
Submission of Portfolio
To complete your portfolio you must undertake the following:
- Complete Patches 1 to 3
- Write a reflective account for Patch 4 (as detailed above)
Attendance at all lectures and seminars will help you in preparing for, and completing, all the required components of the portfolio.
Please note that your portfolio will need to include the following:
- Written reflective account including topic discussion, reflection and Individual Learning Action Plan
- Tutor feedback sheets from Patches 1 and 2
- Peer assessed feedback from Patch 2 presentation
- Tutor completed contribution sheets for Patch 3
