Should we think for ourselves, and fashion complaints on behalf of the idea that injustice ought to be resisted?

Weigh in on this debate. Should we think for ourselves, and fashion complaints on behalf of the idea that injustice ought to be resisted? Ought we, in the name of this principle, to let go of our cruel optimisms, and reject the notion that things are as they should be? Or is there an extent to which, as Rousseau claims, doing this risks complicity in another cruelty, the cruelty that comes with adopting reason at the expense of empathy?
