Write a paper to prove that both stateless and state societies are able to thrive under modern circumstances.

I need you to extend my paper to 3500 words and evaluate the bonus for the addition of the new pages.

I would also like my paper to prove that both stateless and state societies are able to thrive under modern circumstances. The introduction and thesis used in the proposal are the same ones I would like to use in the final paper with simple editing. I would also like to remove the structuralism theory and focus more on culturalism.

Professors feedback:
Alya–this is fascinating stuff, but my concern is that you are trying to cover too much in a short paper (yes, 15 – 20 pages is short!). Your theory, though interesting, is very broad.

I suggest you either use anarchish as your chief theoretical postion–you would be arguing to recognize actually existing non-state or state-resistant societies as examples of anarchism, or to use Scott’s theory of resistance embodied in ordinary cultural practice. I don’t see an extended discussion of structuralism in your proposal–and though interesting, is probably not relevant. Weber’s theory of the state as maintaining a monopology on the legitimate use of force (as modified by Tilly) would be a good counterpoint to anarchist theory.
