The purpose of this statement is to discuss why deception detection relies more on non-verbal cues rather than verbal cues when no further informational evidence is available. Deception detection is widely used in law enforcement, business negotiation and interviews for most big corporations. Most research shows detecting deception using verbal cues has accuracy close to random. On the other hand researches covered in this paper strongly suggest that non-verbal cues is a more powerful tool to detect deceptions in human interaction.
